& Parks Department Matching Grant Fund -
Seattle, Washington, 1993
Andrea Metz and Maggie Smith, artists, in conjunction with Whittier
Elementary, Seattle Parks Department, and Jones and Jones Architects,
created tiled plaza at Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, Washington.
The artists taught 350 children tile-making over a 6 month period. The
final project included tiled benches and a plaza based upon an ocean
theme. It is located on the beach, at Golden Gardens Park, overlooking
Shilshole Bay.
